Brewers’ duel is joust the job for charity

A pair of rival breweries have staged a brew-off “duel” in aid of charity. Edinburgh brewers Stewart Brewing challenged nearby Clackmannshire brewery Harviestoun to make the best Black IPA (4.8-5.2 per cent) which was judged on Thursday (Feb 2) in a blind taste test. Eighty-plus ales in battle for top title

A staggering 80-plus Yorkshire ales lined up at Rotherham’s Real Ale and Music Festival at Magna last night to do battle for the proud title of Best Beer in the country’s biggest county. Stoke-on-Trent’s Titanic Brewery has launched what it thinks will be a passport to beer sales – with its “Staffordshire Moorlands Blue Riband Pilgrimage”. Winchester pub brews its own
