Rotherham’s giant “Baa’s of Steel” beer festival organisers have announced a record number of live acts to rock next week’s four-day real ale and music spectacular.
Drinkers at the 20th Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival can watch 28 different live acts on three stages, as they sample more than 230 real ales at the huge Magna Science Adventure Centre in the South Yorkshire town.
Among headliners are a Freddie Mercury tribute band and a Ministry of Sound vocalist, plus acts playing blues, rock, latin funk, swing and jazz, a host of covers bands and new local talent.
Festival organiser Stephen Burns said: “Although the festival is perhaps best known for the varied selection of real ales available, our diverse and varied entertainment line up offers access to a range of talented performers, many of whom command premium prices to see them perform in their own right.”
