Three firkins is too firkin heavy for ale-pedalling Joe!

Cambridgeshire’s newest brewer is not so much peddling as PEDALLING his ales to the trade – as he delivers barrels of beer to local pubs… by BIKE!
Joe Kennedy can be seen riding along, towing a trailer loaded with two 72-pint firkins – as the ex-BMXer builds up his fledgling BlackBar brewery in Harston, near Cambridge.
Joe, 29, at first tried hauling three firkins at a time on the 12-mile round-trip from his brewery to the university city’s pubs… but he soon found they were one firkin too heavy!
The sheer weight has now forced him to drop to two.
Joe started his own one-man brewery on New Year’s Eve, and has since brewed 2,600 pints.
He now has 10 pubs taking his maiden brews: BlackBar Bitter, Black Economy and IPA Noire, with a new
beer – Black Light – set to come out soon.
And his eco-delivery service will no doubt help keep BlackBar’s books in the black, too!
