Dark days may be here, but our brewers aren’t sleeping in – as you will see here…
Award-winning Ilkley Brewery has welcomed in a band of women brewers, to create a new all-American IPA as part of a unique new “Project Venus”.
The collective was led by Ilkley’s new lady brewer, Harriet Marks – and together they turned out the 6 per cent Venus Voyage IPA, which they will now make and sell on return to their home breweries.
Along with hosts Ilkley Brewery, the female head brewer of Washington DC’s Bluejacket Brewery joined a list of women brewers from: Brewsters Brewing Company; Offbeat Brewery; Triple FFF Brewery; Brentwood Brewing; Oldershaw Brewery; Dancing Duck Brewery; Prospect Brewery;
Welbeck Abbey Brewery; Sandstone Brewery; Waen Brewery; Wilson Prospect Brewery and Zero Degrees Brewery.
Sharp’s Brewery has launched a 4.8 per cent Winter Berry Ale – infused with British cherries – as part of its Seasaonals range, to warm the hearfts of cask beer lovers over the festive season.
Winter Berry is described as “a ruby coloured winter ale with complex malt and dark berry fruit flavours – and a tantalising Morello cherry top-note”.
Sharp’s Head Brewer, Stuart Howe, said: Five different malts are used along with four varieties of hop and matured with whole cherries to create a complex and most drinkable beer.”
Cheshire family brewers Robinsons have just signed an exclusive five-year pouring rights deal with Stockport County FC, as sole official drinks supplier for ‘The Hatters’ at their 10,900-seater, Edgeley Park Stadium. The deal includes signage around the ground, programme advertising, sponsorship of one of the stands, and advertising promotion boards behind each of the goal ends.
Certain Robinsons pubs will also benefit by getting player access including sporting panel evenings, sports forums, special t-shirt collector kit promotions and match tickets.
