As the first robot cars appear on our roads, stand by for… robot beer. The first Artifiial Intelligence ales are now being brewed in the UK – made by robots, to your specifications!
Robot beer! This AI ale is brewed using artificial intelligence.
IntelligentX is the first brewery in the UK to design a series of algorithms that will tweak and improve a given ale over time, in accordance with customer feedback.
In fact, the company’s Pale, Amber, Black and Golden varieties have been tweaked 11 times since the AI went live.
IntelligentX employs an online feedback system that lets you judge the qualities of an ale, on a 1-10 scale. The brewery then collates all the responses, and fine-tunes the beer recipe to achieve a common mix.
The brewer has gone into partnership with machine learning firm Intelligent Layer and creative agency 10x, to found the project.
The company says: “IntelligentX produces the world’s first beer brewed by artificial intelligence, which improves itself from customer feedback.
“We use a complex machine learning algorithm to determine what consumers like about our beers, then brew new versions which are more finely tuned to people’s tastes.”
