The Lake District’s Hawkshead Brewery is set to hold a three-day celebration of northern craft ales – complete with a mass brew – to mark its 10th summer beer festival.
Hawkshead has gathered some of the most innovative independent brewers across the region for the event, which runs from July 21-23.
Some 80 ales, from 25 breweries, will be up for grabs at the brewery’s Beer Hall in Staveley village – two of which will be Hawkshead two special edition one-offs: Earl Grey & Seville Orange Sour 3.3 per cent and Dry Hopped Citra Sour 3.3 per cent.
On the Friday, real ale buffs will be able to watch a mass collaboration between Hawkshead head brewer Matt Clarke and brewers from a clutch of other companies, as they try to create an epic ale.
Brewers from Ashover, Cloudwater, Magic Rock, Marble, Pivovar, Quantum, Roosters, Runaway, Siren and Thornbridge are signed up to the event.
Live music and street food will be supplemented by nosh from the brewery kitchen. No entry ticket is needed.
