They’re a thirsty lot in Hereford… and this weekend they will be proving it once more, by sinking a staggering 24,000 pints at the town’s 12th CAMRA Hereford beer festival!
Beer on the Wye XII takes placed in a huge marquee alongside Hereford Rowing Club, which over the three-day weekend will play host to more than 6,000 visitors.
Local brewer Jim Kenyon will open the event at 2pm on Friday, wearing his other hat, as Mayor of Hereford.
Festival organisers, Herefordshire CAMRA have pulled in more than 125 different cask beers from some 100 UK breweries, together with 40 bottled world beers and an impressive array of 137 different ciders and perries – of which more than 100 come from within the county! The local Wye Valley and Swan breweries have created one-off ales for the event.
A clutch of live bands throughout the weekend will take their place among too many family attractions to mention, and hot and cold grub will be on offer too.
Admission varies from £4 on the Friday, £6 on the Saturday and just a quid on the Sunday.
