Brewing behemoth Marston’s has completed a whopping £10m overhaul of its 1960s Wolverhampton headquarters, Marston’s House.

Marston's signIn a huge, military-style operation, hundreds of staff were moved out of the brewer’s flagship base to its old offices in Coniston House, whilst a year-long renovation took place.

Meanwhile, Marston’s House was stripped back to its concrete innards and totally rebuilt. The two office block were than combined into a one-piece unit, linked by a four-storey atrium with overhead walkways.

The atrium also boasts an open staircase made for iron, by local firm Stair Designs and 95 per cent of the furniture was suppplied by another local company.

On each floor, the 350 staff can meet up to work and talk… whilst sitting inside giant ‘barrels’  housing seats and tables!

With staff now able to commfortably meet customers in the new building, the company entertained 2,000 outside visitors in sex weeks after the refurb – more than they had in, in the whole of the previous year.

Only chief executive Ralph Findlay has an office. Everyone else, including the other directors, share desks with the rest of the staff.
