A South Yorkshire town’s beer festival AND a brand new brewery are about to be launched just a couple of miles away… in New York!

rotherham_camraRotherham’s Chantry Brewery will produce its debut ales, at the first ever real ale festival to be run by the town’s CAMRA branch.

And the whole thing will take place in the glittering £20 million New York soccer stadium, opened just last month as the new home of Rotherham United!

The festival will be held in the superb 1925 Suite at the super-stadium, and it will feature 45 ales – including beers from Chantry, American bottled beers from a special Big Apple bar, plus ciders and wine. The whole lot will be served up with food and live entertainment.

It will run on Friday and Saturday, November 9-10 as an all-ticket event. Tickets, at just £5, go on sale on October 1.

The new Chantry Brewery is currently installing a 20bbl, state-of-the-art brewery in neighbouring Parkgate – Rotherham’s first brewery in years – and its first ales will debut at the festival.

Tickets for the festival (whose logo is shown below right) are just a fiver each – and card-carrying CAMRA members get a free pint!

The branch is looking for volunteers (who will get free Wentworth Brewery ale!) to set up, run and take down the festival and there are still some sponsorship opportunites available. For full details on ticketing, the beer list and more, keep an eye on the links below.
