Cornish brewer Sharp’s has teamed up once more with the county’s world-famous Eden Project, to create a new Cornish Pilsner. Following the success of the collaboration Eden Ale, Sharp’s head brewer Stuart Howe again turned to the project’s horticulture team, to supply the English thyme that gives Cornish Pilsner a distinctive flavour.

Stuart said: “Cornish Pilsner is clear and satisfying – a refreshing reward for visitors exploring the world’s largest indoor rainforest at the Eden Project. Crisp and light, with clean fruit notes, it is a delicious aperitif and a perfect partner to shellfish or light spicy dishes.”

Tracey Smith, Eden’s commercial projects manager, added: “We’re very pleased to have worked with Stuart and the Sharp’s team on the new Cornish Pilsner and it’s great to have Eden-grown thyme which is an integral part of this delicious, refreshing new beer.”

The 5.2 per cent pilsner is available online, at the Sharp’s Brewery shop and the Eden Project itself.

Meanwhile, Sharp’s has returned its 4.1 per cent Red Ale as the September beer in its seasonal range, after public demand for the fruity, bittersweet ale. It is described as having a “caramel and biscuit aroma and deep flavour, featuring dry roasted coffee and nutty malts” which bridges the gap between the light summer ales and deep, winter brews.
