Cornish brewer Sharp’s is giving 28,000 “extreme sailing” fans the chance to race each other, at the Extreme Sailing Series in Cardiff Harbour which started today (August 30).
The brewer’s Race the Doom Bar challenge offers the spectators the opportunity of competing against one another in a “Race the Doom Bar” gig race.
But no-one need fear drowning – as they’ll all be using rowing machines dressed up as gig boats!
Sharp’s is the official beer partner of the award-winning, inshore racing series, which runs until Sunday, September 2.
Sharp’s brand manager, James Nicholls, said: “Sharp’s is committed to supporting activity which harnesses the power of nature.
“This event in Cardiff Harbour gives tens of thousands of people such an opportunity.”
Doom Bar is Sharp’s flagship beer. It is named after an infamous sandbank which guards the mouth of the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall.
