Back to basics for ex-Moorhouses award-winner

Former Moorhouses chief brewer Peter Gouldsbrough has gone back to basics – by opening a microbrewery in Burnley. Peter, 50, quit brewing after leaving multi-million pound brewers Moorhouses – where he scooped five international brewing awards and the Champion Beer of Britain title – six years ago.

Now he has set up the Reedley Hallows Brewing Company, with business partner Roy Dixon… using the sort of kit he began with, 20 years earlier, to produce around 40 firkins of 3.6 per cent Old Laund Bitter and 3.9 per cent Filly Close Blonde, a week.
