Sharp’s Brewery has got on board at the 40th English National Surfing Championships – by sponsoring the Men’s Longboard category… and serving their ales to those competing!
The brewers will be present at the event – at Watergate Bay in Cornwall, next Saturday and Sunday (May 26-27) – to present the award to the Men’s Longboard champion… and provide a pint of beer to the surfers when they have finished competing.
The surfing championships are organised by the English Surfing Federation and Sharp’s sponsorship of the event is part of the brewery’s ongoing commitment to outdoor sports, which also include rowing, sailing and cycling.
James Nicholls, Sharp’s brand manager: “The surfers striving to succeed at the English National Surfing Championships will be using their skill and technique to harness the power of nature – qualities we employ at Sharp’s to brew our award-winning beers.
“We wish all the surfers every success and hope for a good swell and another exciting event this year.”
Founded in 1994, Rock-based Sharp’s has grown rapidly to become the largest brewer of cask beer in the South West and the owner of one of the UK’s fastest growing cask beer brands, Doom Bar.
