Amazing Grace makes comeback at cricket pub…

Enthusiasts are trying to save a pub garden’s CRICKET nets from disappearing into oblivion.
The nets, at Bristol’s Old England pub, are one of only two in the country housed in a beer garden, and they were once graced by Gloucestershire and England legend WG Grace himself.
Latterly they have suffered years of neglect, but Old England Cricket Club members have joined pub manager Russell Allan to launch a restoration. They need around £2,000 to do the job – and are also looking for cricketers for next season.
If you can help, call the club secretary on 07766 452287.
Meanwhile it’s Owzat – OUT for Marston’s Pedigree, which has been dismissed from Lord’s for the Olympics… by Dutch lagerboys Heineken!
Though Pedigree is the official beer of the England cricket team, Heineken have sole “pouring rights” for the Olympics.
So when Lord’s temporarily becomes the archery venue for the Games, the covers will go on… on pictures of Marston’s and its “beer ambassador” fast bowler, Matthew Hoggard!
