Cornish brewer Sharp’s is sailing its Atlantic IPA again this summer, following its phenomenal success last year.

sharps_ipa_120612Year-on-year sales of the 4.2 per center rose by 51% last year over 2010, with 3,500 casks sold against 2,300 a year earlier.

The brewer brought the top ale back from June 1 – making it available for the Jubilee weekend and giving it a chance to set yet more records.

Sharp’s is committed to using high-quality, sustainable local ingredients and the brewery continues its close association with the Eden Project, by using one of the varieties of hop grown at the eco-centre, in Atlantic.

The IPA is brewed using an all-malt grist with a blend of four types of hops, added at different stages of the process.

Head brewer Stuart Howe said: “The seasonal exclusivity of Atlantic IPA has seen beer drinkers eager to savour this complex and refreshing ale, which features gentle fruit that gives way to an intense bittersweet flavour.
v “The light, citrus notes and hoppy bitterness make Atlantic IPA the perfect ale for the British summertime.”

Sharp’s is the largest brewer of cask beer in the South West and it is already famous for producing the UK’s fastest growing cask ale, Doom Bar.
