When Green-King announced a merger, a top brewer stepped in with a celebratory ale…
And bride and groom Louise King and Jamie Green found themselves toasting their wedding day with their OWN hand-made ale from the national giant which shares their new name!
Greene King, the brewer, supplied 80 special bottles of beer to Green-King the newlyweds, as the Yorkshire couple tied the knot.
Greene King stepped in after Jamie and Louise contacted chief executive Rooney Anand ahead of their big day. And the Bury St Edmunds brewery produced their unique bottled ale, even designing special labels featuring a picture of the couple.
Said Louise: “We both love good beer – so we were really chuffed when the brewery agreed to produce some special bottles to help us celebrate the coming-together of Mr Green and Miss King”. The Greene King brewery was created when Benjamin King and Edward Greene joined forces, 200 years ago.
Mr Anand added: “The union of a Greene and a King has proved a very successful marriage for us… and we wish the latest Green-King’s the same”
